David Rossmer, Sandy Rustin and Dan LiptonSandy Rustin (book & lyrics) is an actress, playwright, and mom. Her full length comedy, The Cottage, (a 2014 Reva Shiner Comedy Award Finalist) opened at the Astoria Performing Arts Center in 2013 and transferred to Queens Theatre in the Park in November 2014. The play made its regional debut at Theatre Aspen in the summer of 2014 (and played at The Americana Theatre in Plymouth, MA and The Actors’ Theatre of Phoenix in Phoenix, AZ). Last summer The Cottage played at The Engeman Theatre in Northport, Long Island and is currently under option for an upcoming commercial production in New York. Her new play, STRUCK was selected as part of NJ Repertory’s 2015 reading series, and will have its world premiere at NJ REP in June/July 2016. Sandy recently guest starred on Comedy Central’s, Inside Amy Schumer and regularly appears at New York’s The Upright Citizen’s Brigade in “Gravid Water” (named “Best ImprovShow” by Time Out NY). She is the Founding Co-Artistic Director of Midtown Direct Rep, an advocate for CowdenFoundation.org and makes a delicious gluten free/dairy free lasagna that her children will actually eat. Dan Lipton & David Rossmer (music & lyrics) are longtime collaborators who write music, lyrics and scripts together. Their original musical comedy THE BLONDE STREAK is set for production by Beth Williams’ Grove Entertainment. The team is also under commission with Araca Group for MATCHBOOK, based on the bestselling memoir. Their dramatic musical NOTES TO MARIANNE has been developed at Amas, the NAMT Festival, New York Stage & Film and the O’Neill Center’s NMTC conference, where the team received the Holof Award for their lyrics. Their form-bending musical satire JOE! has been seen at the Kennedy Center’s Theater Lab, Chicago’s Equity Library Theatre and NAMT in New York. They co-created the hit off-Broadway comedy show DON’T QUIT YOUR NIGHT JOB, writing special material for the likes of Darren Criss, Andrea Martin, Sutton Foster, Huey Lewis, David Hyde Pierce and Megan Hilty, to name a few.
